KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) is the three-amino-acid C-terminal fragment of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). Despite its minimal size, it retains potent anti-inflammatory activity, with research linking its effects to PepT1-mediated uptake into intestinal epithelial and immune cells and downstream suppression of NF-κB-driven cytokine production.
Research has shown KPV reduces DSS- and TNBS-induced colitis in animal models via PepT1-dependent uptake into intestinal epithelial cells, with downstream suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokine expression and NF-κB activation.
Store lyophilized at -20°C, tightly sealed, away from heat, light and moisture. Once reconstituted, refrigerate at 2-8°C and use within 28 days.
Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water for multi-dose use (supports the 28-day refrigerated window), or an appropriate sterile diluent per your research protocol. Allow the vial to reach room temperature before reconstitution.
Stable for 18-36 months when stored lyophilized at -20°C or below, sealed and protected from light and moisture. Once reconstituted, use within 28 days refrigerated at 2-8°C.
